ROUND 15 PREVIEW – NPL 3 NSW MEN’S

It is that time of the week again where we examine all the upcoming fixtures with round 15 of the National Premier Leagues 3 NSW Men’s competition knocking on the door.

A full list of matches will greet us this weekend with five of those kicking off at the usual 7pm time slot on Saturday while the round will be wrapped up at the Crest on Sunday afternoon.

Another blockbuster clash is on the cards this weekend as top of the table Rydalmere Lions FC go toe-to-toe with Dulwich Hill FC at 7pm.

Gavin Rae’s men enter this must-watch encounter with almost a perfect record (just one defeat in their last five matches) while the men from Arlington Oval are undefeated throughout that same time period.

This match will be hard to predict but I think it is safe to say that we will get to see the net ripple based on the result between these two sides when they first met.

A Matt West hat-trick seemed to have done the job for Rydalmere however it was the now departed Anthony Foti who rescued a point for his side with a dramatic 94th minute equaliser.

Bankstown United FC will be targeting four wins on the bounce when they travel to Arlington Oval to face off against Inner West Hawks FC at 7pm.

United have hit their stride and look on path to secure finals football if they maintain their current run of form.

They will be eyeing their tie with the Hawks as the perfect way to boost their goal difference with all the teams ahead of them having scored more than 30 goals this campaign.

It turned out 2-0 in favour of United the last time these two sides met with Mitch Cross and Lachie Willmore the goal scorers on that occasion.

Making our way to the eastern suburbs where Dunbar Rovers FC will be welcoming Gladesville Ryde Magic to Heffron Park at 7pm.

Consistency has been an issue for the usually reliable Magic, they have tasted that winning feeling just once in their last five fixtures.

Meanwhile, their opponents have not fared much better of late with a win and draw to show from as many matches.

A Sergio Tarazona brace went some way to helping Magic the last time they met Dunbar with 4-2 the result at Christie Park back in round 4.

A massive test awaits Sydney University SFC as they take on Bankstown City FC at Jensen Park on Saturday night.

The men from Camperdown have been in striking form of late and enter this fixture on a better run than their third placed hosts.

A resolute performance saw Uni come away with all three points from a tricky trip to Macarthur while it was a rare weekend for Bankstown after they failed to get on the scoresheet at Dulwich Hill.

However, goals were not a problem for Bankstown the first time they went head to head as they came out 4-1 winners at Arlington Oval.

Inter Lions FC will be out to address a three-match losing slump when they host Macarthur Rams FC at Majors Bay Reserve this Saturday.

It was not that long ago that we were discussing Inter’s achievements after they won three on the bounce but a poor run of late has seen John Theo’s men falter in their quest for finals football.

They could help their cause massively with three points against a Rams side who sit just one place above them in the standings.

But beware it was Macarthur who were resounding victors the last time they come up against each other as they put four past the men from Concord without reply.

The final encounter of the weekend takes us to the Crest as Central Coast United FC make the journey to Bass Hill to meet Canterbury Bankstown FC with kick off set for 4pm.

The Pirates sneaked back into the top six last weekend courtesy of their win at home to the Hawks while Berries were also left celebrating after they saw off Inter.

Another win for the home side this weekend could finally see them move up in the standings while all three points for Central Coast will only cement their place in the top six.

This match will no doubt make for interesting viewing and a glut of goals may be on the cards with 3-3 the final score in the reverse fixture.
